Boycott was an action of protest and solidarity against the mistreatment of migrants in the U.S., emphasizing the importance of workers, both documented and undocumented, in the U.S. economy. In the weeks leading up to the event, there was a radio and press campaign calling on the people of Tijuana to refrain from crossing the border, especially if their visit was for consumption. On the day of the event, the artists leafleted at the San Ysidro crossing, informing the few cars that arrived that day to wait in line to cross the border. The artists report that the majority of those who received the information decided to support them and not cross into the United States.
